Teacher, 38, at posh Christian school bombarded teen student with sordid texts
A teacher at a religious Christian school has been arrested after it emerged she had “bombarded” one of her teenage students with sex texts.
Educator Julie Kinsey Hoover, 38, has been charged with soliciting sex with a student.
Authorities in Florida were called in when their illicit online relationship became public.
Local news channel WCTV reports the woman teaches at a private school.
They said the female teacher at a north Florida private school is accused of exchanging text messages about sex with an 18-year-old student.
Police on Thursday (June 9) told the channel that the woman was arrested on Wednesday and charged with an authority figure soliciting or engaging in sex with a student.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office has made the initial booking records available online.
Thee station said Hoover is a teacher at Point of Grace Christian School in Perry, WCTV reported.
According to court documents, the mother of the student contacted the sheriff’s office on June 2 after finding explicit text messages between Hoover and her son.
Investigators said the text messages were exchanged in March and April 2022, WCTV reported. At the time, the student was enrolled in more than one class taught by Hoover, the television station reported.
Hoover was released Thursday after posting a bail bond of around £12,000, according to online booking records.
Officials at Point of Grace Christian School have not responded to requests for comment, WCTV reported.

Another news channel, KKTV reports the mother had told the sheriff’s office that it appears the married teacher was actively trying to lure the teenager to sneak in to her home when her husband was away at work.
According to the women's Linkedin page, she had been teaching at the school since 2018, and is a graduate of St Leo University.
She was active on social media until yesterday (Sunday, June 12).
According to the school's mission statement: “The goal of POGC is to train youth in the highest principles of moral character, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and good citizenship. POGC stands without apology for high standards of morality and wisdom.”
