No injuries in Fort Lupton gas fire on Sunday

No one was hurt when a gas compressor station in Fort Lupton caught fire early Sunday morning.

The blaze started around 4:50 a.m. at the Western Midstream’s DJ Tri-Town Compressor Station, a company spokeswoman said, and preliminary information indicated the fire was extinguished by about 5:25 a.m.

No one was hurt during the incident, which Fort Lupton Fire described on Twitter as an “explosion.” They reported it was fully extinguished by 6:45 a.m.

Western Midstream is conducting an internal investigation to determine the cause of the gas-fed fire, spokeswoman Kristen Shults said. The community was not impacted by the fire at the station, which is at 8129 County Road 21, she said.
