The Met Office has issued two weather warnings for severe weather across the UK for Monday and Tuesday. The warning advises of heavy downpours which could be disruptive during Monday evening and overnight.

The Met Office warning for rain is in effect from 5pm on Monday until 4am on Tuesday.

The forecaster has issued two rain warnings for Monday and Tuesday.

The warning advises a few homes and businesses flooded with bus and train services affected meaning journey times may take longer.

Spray and flooding on roads will also impact journey times.

The warning reads: “A band of heavy rain, accompanied by strong and gusty winds, will move eastwards across Wales and southwest England into central and southern England this evening.

“0.8 to 1.2 inches (20mm to 30mm) of rain could fall in a few hours with as much as 1.6 to two inches (40mm to 50mm) in a few spots in southwest England, South Wales and also north-western parts of Wales.

“Western parts of the warning area, except northwest Wales, will become drier from the west through the evening.”
